Proclaims Arts Advocacy Day

"Arts Advocacy of West Virginia believes strongly that resources directed at organizations and activities that enhance and contribute to the educational, artistic and cultural welfare of the citizens of West Virginia constitute a real investment in the future of our state," Gov. Joe Manchin III said in a proclamation issued at the opening session of the April 3-4, 2006, Arts Assembly in Charleston.

The organization, he added, seeks "to provide an effective and unified voice for the arts community of West Virginia, and to education state legislators and policy-makers on the need for continued and expanded support of the arts."

Proclaiming April 3, 2006, "Arts Advocacy Day" in the Mountain State, Gov. Manchin encouraged "all citizen to celebrate and promote the arts and culture in West Virginia."
